The Boston Red Sox acquired pitcher Adam Ottavino, prospect Frank German and cash considerations from the New York Yankees.
The Yankess will receive a player to be named later or cash considerations in the future.
Seems like a cash dump for the Yankess, who are trying to stay under the $210 million luxury tax threshold for the upcoming season.
Ottavino is owed $8 million in salary this season with a $3 million signing bonus, which is deferred to 2022.
According to ESPN, the Yankess are also paying $850,000 as part of the deal.
If healthy, Ottavino could help Boston save games in the upcoming season in the final year of his current deal.
