The New York Jets have released 30-year-old CB Trumaine Johnson.
The team saves $3 million from Johnson’s release, but still owe $12 million in dead money.
Johnson signed a five-year, $72.5 million deal in 2018, but never lived up to his contract getting himself benched last season.
The Jets are left with three active corners, and they’re looking to makes a splash in free agency.
They’ve been linked to Byron Jones and James Bradberry.
