The Los Angeles Chargers and 24-year-old running back Austin Ekeler have agreed to a 4-year, $24.5 million contract.

The new deal comes with $15 million guaranteed.

The move is right for both parties, and unofficially pushes out Melvin Gordon and allows Ekeler to become the work horse back.

Depending on who’s quarterbacking the Chargers this upcoming season, Ekeler may have some big numbers as an all down back.
