Red Sox shortstop Trevor Story is out of the starting lineup for Tuesday’s series opener against the Yankees.

Story exited Sunday’s game against Baltimore with heel discomfort, so holding him out looks to be out of precaution.

Story has been in and out of the lineup this season with multiple injuries, and it’s unclear how serious this one is with his left heel.

In 94 games this season, the 29-year-old is hitting .238/.303/.434 with 16 home runs and 66 RBI.
