Arizona Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury said tight end Zach Ertz “will be close” for Week 1.
Ertz has had a lingering calf injury since the beginning of this month, and he didn’t appear much during training camp.
The 31-year-old was utilized often in Arizona’s offense when he arrived from the Eagles last season, and he saw 81 targets across 11 games.
Heading into the regular season to face the Chiefs, the Cardinals should give a more detailed update on Ertz’s status.
