The St. Louis Cardinals placed pitcher Jack Flaherty on the 15-day injury list and outfielder Harrison Bader on the 10-day injury list.
Flaherty is dealing with a right shoulder strain that had him removed from Sunday’s start against the Cubs after just two innings.
Bader will be sidelined with right foot plantar fasciitis, and it’s unclear how long he’ll be out with this issue.
This is a blow for the Cardinals, who ae trailing the Brewers by one game in the NL Central with a 41-34 record.
Flaherty had already missed the first two months of the season with shoulder inflammation before returning on June 15 against the Pirates.
Bader is currently tied for sixth in the league in steals (15) and was slashing .256/.303/.370 before his injury.
More clarity on both players will likely be made soon by the team after undergoing further testing.
