Luis Severino has been placed on the New York Yankees COVID-19 injury list and he’s been scratched from his start Thursday.
The 28-year-old will be replaced by Clarke Schmidt from his scheduled start Thursday against the Tampa Bay Rays.
It’s unclear yet just how much time Severino will be sidelined, but he’ll likely be out until he clears league health and safety protocols.
Severino was coming off a nice performance on June 10 against the Cubs, where he struck out 10 batters and gave up just one earned run across six innings pitched.
On the season, he’s posting a 4-1 record, 2.80 ERA, 71 strikeouts, and 1.033 WHIP across 61 innings pitched.
Fantasy managers will have to hit the waiver wire for a replacement as long as Severino’s out.
