Arizona Diamondbacks shortstop Nick Ahmed has been ruled out for the beginning of the season.
Ahmed had been experiencing discomfort in his right shoulder last week and received a round of cortisone shots that comes with a 10-day shutdown period.
The 32-year-old received a MRI that showed no structural damage, but it’s likely that he misses a bulk of the month of April.
The Diamondbacks will have to find a short-term replacement for Ahmed to start the 2022 season.
