The Minnesota Vikings signed linebacker Za’Darius Smith to a three-year, $42 million contract.
Smith was originally headed to the Baltimore Ravens on a four-year $35 million contract, but he ultimately decided to back out of that deal.
Now, Smith can earn up to $47 million with incentives with his deal with Minnesota.
The 29-year-old was limited to 18 snaps last season due to a back injury, but he compiled 26 sacks and 107 tackles combined in 2019 and 2020.
Smith along with defensive end Danielle Hunter could make a great duo for the Vikings’ pass rushing defense when both are healthy.
