Texas Rangers 3B prospect Josh Jung is out for six months after undergoing surgery Wednesday to repair a torn labrum in his left shoulder.
Jung was drafted by the Rangers as the 8th overall pick in the 2019 MLB June Amateur Draft out of Texas Tech.
The 24-year-old was poised for a breakout season after posting a .326/.398/.592 batting line with 19 homers and 61 RBI in 78 games last summer spending time with Double-A Frisco and Triple-A Round Rock.
Unfortunately earlier this month, Jung suffered the labrum tear while lifting weights.
Jung’s young career stats can be found here at Baseball Reference.
