Free agent wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster hopes to re-sign with the Pittsburgh Steelers this offseason.

Smith-Schuster spoke with TMZ:

“At the end of the day I want to have my legacy in Pittsburgh and retire there.”

“I don’t want to leave. I’m Pittsburgh for life.”

The 24-year-old is well deserving a big contract, but the Steelers will have to make some moves as they have $-6,029,797 currently in cap space.

Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger currently has the biggest cap hit on the team for 2021 at 41,250,000.

Big Ben will likely have to restructure his deal in order for the team to sign Smith-Schuster to either a short or long-term contract.

If nothing can be fixed, the Steelers will have to move forward with Diontae Johnson and Chase Claypool and their main wideouts.

There’s recently been rumors of both the Raiders and Jets pursuing Smith-Schuster if Pittsburgh can’t get a deal done.
