The San Diego Padres have acquired starting pitcher Blake Snell from the Tampa Bay Rays for four prospects.

Tampa Bay will receive pitchers Luis Patino and Cole Wilcox, and catchers Blake Hunt and Francisco Mejia.

Snell was the winner of the 2018 Cy Young Award and he’s posting a 2.85 ERA and 3.54 strikeout-to-walk ratio over the last three seasons along with 648 career stirkeouts.

The 28-year-old has an adjusted salary of $40,800,000 over the next three seasons before becoming an unrestricted free agent in 2024.
