The Charlotte Hornets will be waiving small forward Nicolas Batum.
Batum picked up his $27.1 million player option with the team earlier this month, but the team will waive him shortly.
According to Marc Stein of the New York Times, the Clippers are emerging as a possible suitor for Batum’s services.
Batum, who turns 32 in a couple weeks, barely saw the floor last season playing in just 22 games averaging 23.0 minutes per.
Although he doesn’t fill the stat sheet, Batum could be used as a veteran wing defender for a playoff contending roster.
