The Chicago Cubs signed President of Baseball Operations Jed Hoyer to a five-year extension.

Hoyer has been with Chicago since 2011 and was promoted to president of baseball operations after Theo Epstein stepped down last week.

This is a big offseason for the Cubs, with the future of their core players uncertain.

Hoyer is now responsible for these decisions through the 2025 baseball season.
