The Milwaukee Brewers inked 28-year-old outfielder Christian Yelich to a 9-year, $215 million contract extension.
This deal will kick in in the 2022 season, as he’s obligated to play out his 2020 and 2021 seasons on the $49.57 million contract he signed back in 2015 with Miami.
Yelich has flourished into one of the best in the game since joining Milwaukee in 2018.
He’s made All-Star appearances in each of his two seasons, made All-MLB First Team in 2019, won NL MVP in 2018, won the Silver Slugger award in both seasons, and has been the NL batting champion both years.
