36-year-old center Tyson Chandler has joined the Los Angeles Lakers after agreeing to a buyout with the Phoenix Suns.
Chandler and the Suns have had mutual interest in a buyout on his over $13 million expiring contract for some time now, but Chandler needed a destination.
Phoenix has no need for the big after drafting DeAndre Ayton with the number one overall pick.
The move gives the Lakers more frontcourt depth along with a veteran with 17 years of experience.
In 18 career seasons (including 2018-2019), Chandler has earned $185,171,645 from NBA contracts with the Chicago Bulls, New Orleans Hornets, Charlotte Bobcats, Dallas Mavericks, New York Knicks, and Phoenix Suns.
