The Boston Red Sox have acquired starting pitcher Nathan Eovaldi from the Tampa Bay Rays for LHP Jalen Beeks.

The 28-year-old was scheduled to make a start today against the New York Yankees, but was dealt hours before game time. Eovaldi is 3-4 a 4.26 ERA in 10 starts this season with 53 strikeouts.

Eovaldi is currently on a 1-year, $2 million contract. He’s made a total of $15,063,000 from contracts in eight career MLB seasons with the Dodgers, Marlins, Yankees, and Rays.
