The Pittsburgh Pirates have declined starting pitcher Chris Archer’s $11 million club option for 2021.

Archer will receive a $250,000 buyout for leaving the club.

The 32-year-old missed the 2020 season after undergoing surgery to relieve thoracic outlet syndrome.

Archer had a poor 6-12 record with a 4.92 ERA since joining the Pirates in 2018.
