Jets release Le’Veon Bell

USA Today Sports

UPDATE: The New York Jets have officially released running back Le’Veon Bell.

Bell has not impressed anyone since signing his 4-year, $52.5 million contract since joining the Jets last season.

In 2019, Bell ran for a mediocre 789 yards and three touchdowns averaging 3.2 yards per carry and a low 52.6 yards per game.

This season, although he’s missed time with a hamstring injury, he’s run for just 113 yards from scrimmage with no touchdowns.

New York has started off the season with a putrid 0-5 record, and head coach Adam Gase has been under fire.

It’ll be interesting to see if another team picks up Bell and his attitude, but he should have a high amount left in the tank at just 28-years-old.

If he gets behind the right offensive line and quarterback, Bell’s fantasy value will pick up for the first time since his days in Pittsburgh.
