The Chicago Bears have locked up linebacker Danny Trevathan with a three-year contract extension through 2022.

The deal is worth $21.75 million in base value and includes a guarantee of $14 million.

Trevathan certainly keeps the punch to the Bears defense that ranked fourth in points allowed and eighth in yards allowed last season.

In his nine games played last season, Trevathan racked up nine sacks and 50 solo tackles.
