Redskins CB Josh Norman Rips Washington Fans

Washington Redskins outspoken cornerback Josh Norman took a big dig at Skins fans after their road win against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The win was Washington’s fourth win in five games, and Norman robbed Bucs QB Ryan Fitzpatrick for an interception.

Norman spoke to USA Today’s Jori Epstein after the game:

“We go into the homestands and it’s like an open bubble. Like the other team’s turf or something. You hear more of them than you do us. Then if something bad happens, they suck. They sit back in their seat and they boo. I don’t know. This year, I’m starting to see that.”

“It’s kind of crazy because the first couple years I been here, you would see sellouts and see people all happy and excited and all for the Redskins. Now, you go around to the whole NFC East teams, Philly, the Giants and even Dallas, they’re sold out. People in the seats, they’re cheering for their team regardless of good or bad or indifferent. They’re still showing up each and every week and going hard.”

“Even the Giants, when they were 1-6, they had a sellout crowd. They were all in there packed, still.”

“We come back to our home and it seems like guys don’t really care. They just boo everything and aren’t really behind us. We don’t really feel that [support]. And I’m tired of it, really. [Shoot], we can play all the games on the road if you ask me.”

“At the end of the day, the people who are going to be for you, the fans that really [have] your back, they’ll be there. The other ones, man, it is what it is. Can’t really speak on them. They’re going to talk about what they talk about anyway. They’re all keyboard warriors anyway.”

Washington is currently sitting first in the NFC East with their 6-3 record and they return home to face the red hot Houston Texans next week.

Norman is the second highest-paid player on the Redskins this season behind quarterback Alex Smith with a salary cap hit of $16,737,500.
