New York Knicks star big man Kristaps Porzingis hasn’t made much progress in his recovery from ACL surgery.

Nine months have passed since the procedure, and the 23-year-old from Lativa has yet to begin running, according to the New York Daily News.

Porzingis tore his ACL in a game against the Milwaukee Bucks in February of last season. Porzingis went down averaging 22.7 points and 6.6 rebounds per game, and he made his first All-Star team.

The team is unclear whether Porzingis will be able to return this season, according to the Daily News.

“If Porzingis is unable to return, that could put him in a tough spot, Chris Cwik from Yahoo Sports reported.” “Porzingis is set to become a restricted free agent next July. The Knicks can match any offer, and have expressed a desire to re-sign Porzingis in the past. It’s unclear whether that would change if there are still concerns about his injury.”

The Knicks have opened the 2018 season with a 4-8 record.
