Yet another week has come in the NFL with more tough matchups that catch the eye. Here are this week’s breakdowns, odds, and predictions for each outing.

Denver Broncos (2-4) @ Arizona Cardinals (1-5) (Thursday Night)

  • Time/Venue: 8:20 PM, State Farm Stadium
  • Moneyline: DEN -117, ARI -103
  • Spread: DEN -1 (-113), ARI +1 (-107)
  • Over/Under: O 41.5 (-113), U 41.5 (-107)
  • Spread Consensus: 62% DEN -1
  • Over/Under Consensus: 62% O 41.5
  • Odds Shark Predicted Score: DEN 23.1 – ARI 20.4
  • Record Against the Spread: DEN (1-4-1), ARI (3-2-1)

Pick – Broncos

This is a matchup of two of the lower tiered teams in the league this season. Denver is marginally better than the Cardinals, and they’ll take this one on the road. Arizona ranks dead last in total offense, which could mean a bounce back week for Denver’s defense.

Tennessee Titans (3-3) @ Los Angeles Chargers (4-2)

  • Time/Venue: 9:30AM, Wembley Stadium
  • Moneyline: LAC -280, TEN +235
  • Spread: LAC -6.5 (-109), TEN +6.5 (-111)
  • Over/Under: O 45.5 (-110), U 45.5 (-110)
  • Spread Consensus: 65% LAC -6.5
  • Over/Under Consensus: 70% O 45.5
  • Odds Shark Predicted Score: LAC 32.2 – TEN 12.2
  • Record Against the Spread: LAC (3-3), TEN (3-3)

Pick – Chargers

The Chargers are finally earning the respect they deserve after manhandling the Browns last week. They look like they really want a playoff spot, and they very well may do so. Although Tennessee’s total defense is currently ranked 8th, they’ll have a ton of trouble against this wide open playbook with a variety of plays that Tennessee hasn’t seen.

New England Patriots (4-2) @ Chicago Bears (3-2)

  • Time/Venue: 1:00PM, Soldier Field
  • Moneyline: NE -165, CHI +145
  • Spread: NE -3 (-115), CHI +3 (-105)
  • Over/Under: O 49.5 (-108), U 49.5 (-112)
  • Spread Consensus: 64% NE -3
  • Over/Under Consensus:  67% O 49.5
  • Odds Shark Predicted Score: CHI 29.0 – NE 19.4
  • Record Against the Spread: NE (3-3), CHI (3-2)

Pick – Patriots

New England finally is looking like the team that made it to the Super Bowl last season. They took down the undefeated Chiefs in a big battle last week in Gillette Stadium. New England is still at home this week, where the Bears will have trouble getting their offense going.

Carolina Panthers (3-2) @ Philadelphia Eagles (3-3)

  • Time/Venue: 1:00PM, Lincoln Financial Field
  • Moneyline: PHI -240, CAR +200
  • Spread: PHI -5 (-118), CAR +5 (-102)
  • Over/Under: O 45.5 (-110), U 45.5 (-110)
  • Spread Consesnsus: 54% PHI -5
  • Over/Under Consensus: 75% O 45.5
  • Odds Shark Predicted Score: PHI 30.5 – CAR 17.3
  • Record Against the Spread: PHI (2-4), CAR (17.3)

Pick – Eagles

Although Philadelphia took on a sub par Giants ball club last week, they looked like the dominant team that won the title last season. Teams can’t run on the Eagles’ defense, and rushing the ball is Carolina’s most effective strategy. The Panthers rank 26th in the league in offensive passing yards, which favors the Eagles in this one. Home field advantage is also a big factor.

Buffalo Bills (2-4) @ Indianapolis Colts (1-5)

  • Time/Venue: 1:00PM, Lucas Oil Stadium
  • Moneyline: IND -330, BUF +275
  • Spread: IND -7.5 (-110), BUF +7.5 (-110)
  • Over/Under: O 43.5 (-110), U 43.5 (-110)
  • Spread Consensus: 53% BUF +7.5
  • Over/Under Consensus: 57% O 43.5
  • Odds Shark Predicted Score: IND 25.1 – BUF 17.2
  • Record Against the Spread: IND (2-4), BUF (3-3)

Pick – Colts

Buffalo will be without starting rookie QB Josh Allen for a few weeks, which throws turnover machine Nathan Peterman in as the starter. In six career NFL games, Peterman has tossed nine picks. Buffalo has a good defense, but they may not put many points on the board. Indianapolis also at home and in big need of a victory.

Miami Dolphins.jpg

Detroit Lions (2-3) @ Miami Dolphins (4-2)

  • Time/Venue: 1:00PM, Hard Rock Stadium
  • Moneyline: DET -170, MIA +150
  • Spread: DET -3 (-120), MIA +3 (+100)
  • Over/Under: O 47 (-110), U 47 (-110)
  • Spread Consensus: 52% MIA +3
  • Record Against the Spread: DET (4-1), MIA (4-2)

Pick – Lions

Minnesota Vikings (3-2-1) @ New York Jets (3-3)

  • Time/Venue: 1:00PM, MetLife Stadium
  • Moneyline: MIN -175, NYJ +155
  • Spread: MIN -3 (-127), NYJ +3 (-107)
  • Over/Under: O 47 (-110), U 47 (-110)
  • Spread Consensus: 64% MIN -3
  • Over/Under Consensus: 68% O 47
  • Odds Shark Predicted Score: NYJ 29.0 – MIN 17.3
  • Record Against the Spread: MIN (2-2-2), NYJ (3-3)

Pick – Vikings

This could be a very close contest. New York’s defense performs much better on their home field, which could rattle Kirk Cousins similar to when he faced Buffalo. However, the Vikings have the much better overall team, and will find a way to pull this one out. Minnesota’s wins may not be pretty, but they find a way to get the job done.

Carlos Hyde.jpg

Cleveland Browns (2-3-1) @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2-3)

  • Time/Venue: 1:00PM, Raymond Jones Stadium
  • Moneyline: TB -160, CLE +140
  • Spread: TB -3 (-119), CLE +3 (-101)
  • Over/Under: O 49.5 (-120), U 49.5 (+100)
  • Spread Consensus: 63% TB -3
  • Over/Under Consensus: 63% O 50
  • Odds Shark Predicted Score: TB 33.2 – CLE 20.4
  • Record Against the Spread: TB (2-3), CLE (4-2)

Pick – Buccaneers

Browns rookie QB Baker Mayfield has exposed himself as the typical rookie who makes rookie mistakes. He’s turning the ball over and making poor decisions. This is the type of matchup that Tampa Bay boosts its confidence on. On their home field, the Bucs won’t let a rookie QB get the W.

Didi Westbrook.jpg

Houston Texans (3-3) @ Jacksonville Jaguars (3-3)

  • Time/Venue: 1:00PM, TIAA Bank Field
  • Moneyline: JAC -225, HOU +195
  • Spread: JAC -5 (-115), HOU +5 (-105)
  • Over/Under: O 42.5 (-110), U 42.5 (-110)
  • Spread Consensus: 56% HOU +5
  • Over/Under Consensus: 52% U
  • Odds Shark Predicted Score: JAC 25.4 – HOU 18.6
  • Record Against the Spread: JAC (3-3), HOU (1-5)

Pick – Texans

Hardest pick of the week comes from this matchup. Divisional rivals with two teams’ momentum swinging in opposite directions. Houston has won three in a row while Jacksonville has gotten destroyed twice back to back. Both defenses are very good, but this game will come down to offense. Blake Bortles is looking like the turnover machine yet again that has earned him his bad reputation. Houston makes the most of their turnover opportunities, and they have ten takeaways so far this season.

Alvin Kamara.jpg

New Orleans Saints (4-1) @ Baltimore Ravens (4-2)

  • Time/Venue: 4:05 PM, M&T Bank Stadium
  • Moneyline: BAL -139, NO +113
  • Spread: BAL -2.5 (-115), NO +2.5 (-105)
  • Over/Under: O 49.5 (-108), U 49.5 (-112)
  • Spread Consensus: 64% NO +2.5
  • Over/Under Consensus: 64% O
  • Odds Shark Predicted Score: BAL 29.7 – NO 18.9
  • Record Against the Spread: BAL (4-2), NO (3-2)

Pick – Saints

This is a matchup with two freight trains colliding. The number four ranked offense of New Orleans takes on the number one ranked defense in Baltimore. New Orleans will put points on the board no matter what, but the same can’t be said about the Ravens. Joe Flacco can’t be trusted quite yet with a mediocre receiving corps. The Saints have a little too many offensive weapons for Baltimore to handle, which gives them the edge.

Adrian Peterson.jpg

Dallas Cowboys (3-3) @ Washington Redskins (3-2)

  • Time/Venue: 4:25, FedEX Field
  • Moneyline: WAS -125, DAL +105
  • Spread: WAS -1.5 (-115), DAL +1.5 (-105)
  • Over/Under: O 41 (-110), U (-110)
  • Spread Consensus: 58% WAS -1.5
  • Over/Under Consensus: 66% O 41
  • Odds Shark Predicted Score: WAS 25.2 – DAL 18.1
  • Record Against the Spread: WAS (3-2), DAL (3-3)

Pick – Redskins

This divisional matchup will come down to time of possession, where Washington ranks 3rd this season compared to Dallas at 15. Other than time of possession, both teams are very similar statistical. FedEX Field is a very important factor in this one, and Washington will take full advantage.

Cooper Kupp.jpg

Los Angeles Rams (6-0) @ San Francisco 49ers (1-5)

  • Time/Venue: 4:25PM, Levi’s Stadium
  • Moneyline: LAR -475, SF +400
  • Spread: LAR -10 (+101), SF +10 (-121)
  • Over/Under: O 52.5 (-110), U 52.5 (-110)
  • Spread Consensus: 54% LAR -10
  • Over/Under Consensus: 76% O 52.5
  • Odds Shark Predicted Score: LAR 32.5 – SF 21.0
  • Record Against the Spread: LAR (3-2-1), SF (2-4)

Pick – Rams

Easy W awaiting for Los Angeles to pick up. San Francisco may put up some points, but the Rams are too much for them to handle at the moment.

New York Giants (1-5) @ Atlanta Falcons (2-4) (Monday Night)

  • Time/Venue: 8:15PM, Mercedes-Benz Stadium
  • Moneyline: ATL -250, NYG +210
  • Spread: ATL -6 (-102), NYG +6 (-118)
  • Over/Under: O 55 (-110), U 55 (-110)
  • Spread Consensus: 61% ATL -6
  • Over/Under Consensus: 57% O 55
  • Odds Shark Predicted Score: ATL 32.2 NYG 19.5
  • Record Against the Spread: ATL (2-4), NYG (2-4)

Pick – Falcons

Atlanta is spectacular on offense, but their defense is horrible. However, a matchup with the Giants is just what they need to boost their confidence to build momentum. New York is tied for 5th in the league in sacks allowed and they show it mostly in pass protection. Eli Manning doesn’t have enough time in the pocket to get clean throws off, and its frustrating the offense, especially Odell Beckham.

Bye: Green Bay Packers, Oakland Raiders, Pittsburgh Steelers, Seattle Seahawks
