T’Wolves Ink Karl-Anthony Towns to 5-year, $190M Super-Max Contract

The Minnesota Timberwolves and 22-year-old center Karl-Anthony Towns have agreed to a 5-year, $190 million super-max contract extension.

The timing of the deal is a surprise, however it’s no surprise Minnesota wanted to lock up their franchise big man.

With surfacing news of Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor wanting to deal Jimmy Butler after reoccurring issues, it allows us to believe that Taylor chose Towns over Butler.

Towns has played each game (82 per year) in his first 3 NBA seasons, averaging 21.6 PPG, 11.7 RPG, and 1.4 BPG.
